With over 15 years of experience producing music and events, André Vener has the ability to bring people, places and great ideas together to create magic. In addition to heading up Pasadena Entertainment, André is Owner of the acclaimed restaurant, wine bar and jazz club redwhite+bluezz. Prior to his current ventures, he served as President and CEO of the California Philharmonic for over a decade, shepherding a fledgling orchestra to regional prominence and bringing live music to hundreds of thousands of music lovers. Noted for his community involvement, André was voted Citizen of the Year for 2009 by the citizens of Pasadena, in the Pasadena Weekly. He has produced over 75 fundraisers for over thirty area non-profits, including the annual Old Pasadena Wine and Jazz Walk.

Paul Lines began his lifelong love affair with jazz in 1977, when only fifteen. Mr. Lines “escaped” Flint, Michigan in 1985 and headed for Los Angeles with a set of drums and a dream to make it as a drummer. His gamble paid off--the very next year, noted critic Bud Webster exclaimed “23 year old Paul Lines, playing like a 20-year Blue Note Vet!”. After years of touring the country and around the world, Lines realized he could better serve the jazz community as a facilitator than as a player, so he founded the Pasadena Jazz Institute in January of 2001, creating an organization dedicated to the preservation, performance and promulgation of jazz.

Dedicated to jazz education, preservation and participation, the Pasadena Jazz Institute is a nonprofit, community benefit organization that celebrates this uniquely American art form. Known throughout the region for its innovative programming, with series like Jazz On The Terrace and Jazz At Paseo, the Institute has brought some of the era's most exciting jazz artists to thousands of eager music lovers and have set hundreds of young people on their way to incorporating jazz into their lives as performers and listeners since its inception in 2001. Following on the Institute's successful first season of concerts Lines added Jazz Camp For Kids in the summer of 2002 and the Pasadena Jazz Orchestra the following December. In addition to its public concerts, the Institute presents school concerts in the Pasadena Unified School District in order to share the legacy of jazz throughout the Pasadena community.
